SpicyIP Jobs: Research Fellows for Centre for Innovation, IP & Competition at NLU, Delhi

NLU-DNational Law University, Delhi (University) is seeking to engage, on a contractual basis, three (03) full time Research Fellows (two positions in the area of law and one in the area of economics/ statistics/ econometrics) for the Centre for Innovation, IP and Competition (CIIPC), at its campus in Dwarka, New Delhi. The deadline for sending the applications is 30th September, 2016.

About the Centre

CIIPC was established in the year 2015 with the objective of contributing to academic and policy oriented dialogues in the areas of innovation, IP and competition. The Centre is currently having two research projects. Many events are also regularly organised by CIIPC. Responsibilities of the Research Fellows

The research fellows will assist the Centre in conducting high- quality research at the interface of law, economics and technology in areas such as innovation, open science, intellectual property and/ or competition law. Research fellows are expected to produce papers, conduct field work, engage in data collection and analysis, etc. Research fellows are also expected to supervise the work of the student researchers associated with the Centre and/ or assist principal investigators in conducting research. They will also assist in conducting the overall activities of the Centre in terms of events and institutional building activities of the Centre.

Qualifications

Candidates holding Graduate or Post Graduate or Doctoral Qualifications in Law/ Economics/ Statistics/ Econometrics or allied areas of social sciences with demonstrable interest in interdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply. Candidates applying for the position of research fellow (law) must show demonstrable research interest in the area of innovation studies, open science, intellectual property law and/ or competition law/ policy. Candidates applying for the position of research fellow (statistics/ econometrics) must show demonstrable skills in statistical analysis/ econometrics, and with strong interest in social science research. Such candidates must have prior experience with statistical software such as STATA.

Compensation

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be in the range of Rs. 40,000- Rs. 60,000 per month.

Depending on the area of expertise of the candidate, the subject of the e- mail should be “CIIPC- Application for Research Fellow (Law)” or “CIIPC- Application for Research Fellow (Statistics/ Economics/ Econometrics)”.

The University reserves the right to conduct interviews to fill this position. The University will be unable to cover the costs for attending the interview.

Deadline: Applications must reach the Centre no later than 30th September, 2016.
